This event is one of over a dozen annual conferences, trainings, and other events hosted by the ASCPA. Opened by a keynote presentation entitled “Value Through Collaboration - The Art of Relationship Management,” this conference will provide an educational and entertaining experience covering topics relevant to Arizona at large, auditing, contract negotiation, white collar crime, and cyber security. Speakers include regulators, government officials, and notable industry professionals.

Value Through Collaboration - The Art of Relationship Management
Led by industry favorite, Peter Margaritis, this keynote discusses the importance of better serving your customers through three primary areas: communication, emotional intelligence, and leadership. Margaritis will discuss the three, highlighting the importance of listening and parking your agenda in your communication, guiding your thinking and behavior through emotional intelligence, and creating a positive effect on others through effective leadership.
9:40 - 10:40 a.m.
Economic Outlook: The State of Greater Phoenix
As the number of businesses growing within or relocating to Arizona continues to rise, the importance of understanding the robust system of innovation and higher education within the state is at an all-time high. Attendees will understand the unique environment drawing new business to the area and how to capitalize.
10:40 - 11:55 a.m.
Preparing for an Audit
A panel of experienced accounting managers and public accountants will discuss helpful hints and advice on how to prepare for an audit with the goal of increased efficiency and lower risk of additional expenses.
12:45 - 1:45 p.m.
Negotiate a Contract Like a Boss
Guests will get the chance to hear about the identification, negotiation, and structuring of key issues related to the purchase and sale of a business. The session will also cover covenants, indemnities, warranties, and purchase price.
2:00 - 3:00 p.m.
White Collar Crime
Led by an FBI Special Agent, this session will cover different types of financial fraud cases worked by the FBI. Visitors can expect to learn about how the FBI identifies red flags and warning signs among small and mid-size businesses, as well as how businesses can aid the FBI when fraud is detected.
3:10 - 4:15 p.m.
Anatomy of a Cyberattack
A leading cybersecurity expert will draw back the curtains to uncover statistics regarding cyberattacks in small and mid-size companies, the usual objectives and goals of hackers, and methods of preventing these attacks. Guests will leave with tangible tools and strategies to help them secure their businesses in the future.
